Artist CV - Boshoff Adriaan

John West Art Galleries stocks works of Adriaan Boshoff and his only two students, Corne Weideman and Danie Smith. Adriaan Boshoff was born in Pretoria in 1935 and past away at the age of 73 in 2008. Adriaan Boshoff was a self-taught artist. Adriaan Boshoff worked in oils and had become known for portraying everyday scenes in his unmistakable impressionistic style. Adriaan Boshoffs investment art has been exhibited and collected throughout the world.

Adriaan Boshoff was one of the great impressionistic artists in his day. Adriaan Boshoff was a reclusive man, an artist who was only really happy in his studio, surrounded by paint and canvasses. But, if any art can be termed an investment, Adriaan Boshoff is the first name that will be recalled. Now a day, investors are investing in Corne Weideman and Danie Smith, because they know that Weideman and Smith were his only two students. Adriaan Boshoff was a real Christian and his faith seems to have helped him discover the inner peace that had so eluded him in his early years â?? and it is this peace that the art lover sees in the maturity, the grace and, indeed, the serenity of his work. Adriaan Boshoff was first and always a South African and some of his most memorable works are landscapes depicting the veld with cattle crazing.

They have about them the epitome of that elusive spirit that makes South African emigres long for home and dream of sun-baked days on the stubby veld. He loved his country, its people - especially its children, and its natural beauty. In Adriaan Boshoffs work, Adriaan Boshoff endeavored to portray things in a way which people are able to understand. Adriaan Boshoff enjoyed capturing scenes and images that he saw and experience around him, as he perceived it - as it impressed itself on him. For this reason Adriaan Boshoff often revisited painted scenes to ascertain whether his interpretation was correct. Adriaan Boshoff found that certain measure of realism in his life, and that is what Adriaan Boshoff sought to share with others. Every work Adriaan Boshoff did was better that the previous one. Adriaan Boshoff was truly a great master artist and his art can truly be seen as investment art.
